Charging
The battery needs to be charged when the device indicates a low battery
status by means of a message on the display and an audible warning. Use
the supplied battery charger complete with an indicator light, the colour of
which has the following meaning:
• Steady red-coloured LED: charging in progress
• Steady green-coloured LED: charging complete
• LED o: no charging, check the correct position of the device or
battery in the battery charger
To charge the battery, proceed as follows, performing the following steps in
order:
1. Connect the mains adapter to the battery charger via the round socket
on the back.
2. Insert the battery or device with battery in the battery charger.
3. Connect the mains adapter to a power socket.
4. Check that the battery or device with battery is correctly inserted in the
battery charger. To do so, check that the indicator light is red.
5. Wait for charging to nish (several hours): when charging is complete,
the indicator light turns green.
The indicator light on the battery charger may remain lit for a few moments
after the device or battery has been removed. This is normal and does not
constitute a malfunction.
Connecting the external headset/microphone
To simplify communication operations and improve audio quality during
reception and transmission, particularly when using the VOX function, the
microphone/headset is oered as an optional accessory. It must be
connected, on the right side of the device, to the relative jack sockets shown
in the right-hand section of the gure in chap. 3. The jack sockets are
