the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power tool is used
for other applications, with different application tools or is poorly
maintained, the noise emission value may differ. This may significantly
increase noise emissions over the total working period. To estimate noise
emissions accurately, the times when the tool is switched off, or when it is
running but not actually being used, should also be taken into account. This
may significantly reduce noise emissions over the total working period.
PREPARING FOR OPERATION:
After unpacking the product check whether all components are present and
install all parts supplied separately by following the assembly instructions.
NOTE: Before you start any installation or maintenance/adjustment always
make sure that the machine is disconnected from the mains.
n Positioning the machine
To ensure operation safety, fix the grinding machine to a flat and stable
working surface (e.g. a workbench).
Place the grinder on a stable horizontal surface (table, bench) in an area
providing free access and safe operation. Using the base mounting holes
(7) install the machine on the bench securely with four fixing bolts. Bolts
length depends on the bench top thickness.
n Installing the anti-spark guards
Anti-spark guards (5) should be installed as shown in Fig. A2, p.2.
The gap between grinding wheel (4) and an anti-spark guard (6) cannot
exceed 2 mm and must be adjusted on a regular basis (see: Fig. B, p.2.).
NOTE: Adjustments can be made only when the grinding wheel is stopped.
n Installing the machined object supports
The machined object support (3) should be installed as shown in Fig. A1,
p.2.
The gap between grinding wheel (4) and the machined object support
(3) cannot exceed 2 mm and must be adjusted on a regular basis (see: Fig.
B, p.2).
NOTE: Adjustments can be made only when the grinding wheel is stopped.
If the grinding wheel is worn so much that it is not possible to adjust the
support gap as required, replace the grinding wheel.
n Replacing grinding wheels
NOTE: Protect the grinding wheel against falls, impacts and greasy
contamination. It is prohibited to use the machine with grinding wheels
damaged or non-compliant to specifications. Always check the grinding
wheel for any damage before installation.
Check grinding wheel using the so-called «sound» method. After placing
your grinding wheel on a wooden bar turn and tap it with a mallet; the
check should cover both sides of the grinding wheel and different
distances from the hole:
a) pure metal sound: the grinding wheel is not damaged – it can be used.
b) rattling and quick stopping sound: the grinding wheel is cracked – it is
not allowed to use it as using it can be dangerous to the user.
To replace a grinding wheel (4) use a Ph2 screwdriver and an M8 flat
wrench to undo 3 fixing screws (11) and remove the side guard (12) (see:
Fig. C, p.2). Holding the grinding wheel with your hand, loosen the fixing
nut (13) with an M19 flat wrench. Then remove pressure flange (14),
paper washer (15) and the grinding wheel off the spindle (16). Now you
can replace the grinding wheel. To install a new grinding wheel perform
the above steps in opposite direction. Pressure flanges should be pointed
with their concave sides towards the grinding wheel.
To replace a fine grinding wheel (8) use a Ph2 screwdriver to undo 3 fixing
screws and remove water container (9) (see: Fig. D, p.3).
Loosen the fixing nut (18) with an M19 flat wrench and remove plastic
pressure flange (19). Then remove the grinding wheel off the inner
pressure flange (21) and spindle (20)(see: Fig. E, p.3).
To install a new grinding wheel perform the above steps in opposite
direction.
NOTE: After completing the replacement, the grinding wheel should run for
at least 1 minute with no load.
BEFORE YOU START OPERATION:
1. Make sure the power source parameters match the grinder
parameters provided on its nameplate.
2. Make sure its switch (1) is in off position.
3. When using an extension cord make sure its parameters and cable
cross-section meet the grinder power requirements. Extension cords
should be as short as possible. When in use extension cords must be
fully uncoiled.
4. Before you start operation check whether grinder fixing is secure,
making sure the grinding wheels move without any obstacles. (NOTE:
The fine grinding wheel (8) rotates simultaneously with the multi-grain
grinding wheel (4)).
OPERATION:
n Turning on/off
To turn the tool on set the switch (1) in position I.
To turn the tool off set the switch (1) in position 0.
NOTE: After changing or when starting operation, the grinding wheel
should run for at least 1 minute with no load.
THE IMPORTANT NOTICE:
This combined machine can be used for rough and thin grinding.
Please, pay attention to rough grinding. It is made essentially by
highspeed m grinding wheel (4) for dry sharpening. Then use ulti-grain
lowspeed a f grinding wheel (8) for wet grinding to make final ine
operational finishing of the sharpening tool.
n Dry grinding
Place the object to be ground on the machined object support ( ) and 3
press it slightly against the multi-grain grinding wheel ( ). For optimum 4
grinding effect keep moving the object slightly from one side to the other.
This is the best way both to provide optimum performance and uniform
grinding wheel wear. Please note that objects being ground heat up
intensely. Considering this, it is recommended to cool down the object
machined from time to time.
During operation the grinding wheel loses its process properties i.e. pores
get clogged due to material penetrating inside and it loses its circular
shape. To open the pores it is recommended to use diamond or other
dressers.
WARNING: Dusts of certain materials, for example, lead containing paint
coats, some wood types, minerals and some metals can be harmful. Direct
physical exposure to dusts or inhaling them can result in allergic reactions
and/or respiratory system diseases in operator and persons staying in the
working area. Some dusts, e.g. oak wood or beech wood dust are
considered to be carcinogenic, especially when combined with wood
treatment chemicals (chromates, wood impregnates). Asbestos
