1. First power down the system and unplug the power cord(s).
2. Remove the cover of the chassis to access the motherboard.
3. Remove the onboard battery from the motherboard.
4. Short the CMOS pads, JBT1, with a metal object such as a small screwdriver for at least
four seconds.
Note: Clearing CMOS will also clear all passwords.
5. Remove the screwdriver (or shorting device).
6. Replace the cover, reconnect the power cord(s), and power on the system.
Platform Firmware Resilience
Platform Firmware Resilience (PFR) provides more protection to the platform firmware. There
are two PFR jumpers located at JPFR2–JPFR3 on the X14DBT-FAP/-FLAP motherboard.

Reference" on page 12.

JPFR2 Updates PFR
Off (Pin 1–1): Normal (Default),
Debug Key On (Pin 1–2): PFR Update, Production Key
JPFR3 Disable PFR Function
Off (Pin 1–1): Normal (Default),
On (Pin 1–2): Disable PFR
Power Button
There is a power button located at JPBTN1 on the X14DBT- FAP/- FLAP motherboard.
Momentarily contacting the button will power on/off the system.

UID LED and System_Reset Button Select Jumper
Jumper JRU1 on the X14DBT-FAP/-FLAP motherboard is used in conjunction with the I/O
Module Connector (JRIO1) to function as a System_Reset button or a UID LED button. To
configure for UID button use in a chassis that supports front UID connection, close pins 1 and 2
of jumper JRU1. To set for the reset button function, close pins 3 and 4 of jumper JRU1.
