2.6 Connections, Jumpers, and LEDs

Power Supply and Power Connections
For information about the power supply and power connections of the X14DBG- MAP
motherboard, refer to the following content.
Power Supply
As with all computer products, a stable power source is necessary for proper and reliable
operation. It is even more important for processors that have high CPU clock rates where noisy
power transmission is present.
The X14DBG-MAP accommodates one 8-pin +12 V power connector (JPWR1), two 2-pin
power connectors (JPWR3–JPWR4), and four 12-pin +12 V power connectors (JPWR5–
JWPR8). Although most power supplies generally meet the specifications required by the
processors, some are inadequate. All these power connections are also required to ensure
adequate power supply to the system.
Important: To avoid damaging the power supply or the motherboard, be sure to use connect
the power supplies to one 8- pin +12 V power connector (JPWR1), two 2- pin power
connectors (JPWR3–JPWR4), and four 12-pin +12 V power connectors (JPWR5–JWPR8)
on the motherboard. Failure in doing so may void the manufacturer warranty on your power
supply and motherboard.
It is strongly recommended that you use a high quality power supply that meets ATX power
supply specification 2.02 or above. It must also be SSI compliant.
Aux Power Output
There is a 2-pin +12 V aux power output connector located at JPWR4 on the X14DBG-MAP
motherboard.

Standby Power Input
A 2- pin +12 V standby power input connector, located at JPWR3 on the X14DBG-MAP
motherboard, is used to provide standby power from the power distribution board.
