7.2.1 Registration via router
Automatic IP address assignment
If DHCP is enabled on your home network router, the appliance
obtains its IP address automatically.
u Call up the SERVICEWELT (see
Accessing SERVICEWELT
[}18]
).
If the Servicewelt does not open, the name resolution for "ser-
vicewelt" was unsuccessful.
u Change your web browser settings.
u Enter "servicewelt" as a proxy exception.
u Disable Google search.
u Carry out a manual registration.
Manual registration
u Enter "http://servicewelt" or "192.168.0.126" in the address
bar of your web browser.
7.2.2 Registration without router
u Use the patch cable supplied to connect the appliance to a
network connection on your computer.
u Enter "http://servicewelt" or "192.168.0.126" in the address
bar of your web browser.
If the SERVICEWELT does not open, you must manually assign an
IP address to your computer in the ISG standard IP address
range.
Example
The appliance has the default IP address "192.168.0.126". Your
computer therefore obtains the IP address "192.168.0.100".
u Open the network settings via "Start/ Settings/ Network
and internet".
u Click on "Properties" for the required network connection.
u Under "Assign IP", click on "Edit".
u Select "Manual".
u Activate "IPv4" and enter the IP address "192.168.0.100".
u Click on "Save".
u Enter "http://servicewelt" or "192.168.0.126" in the address
bar of your web browser.
u Restart your computer if the SERVICEWELT does not open.
u If the SERVICEWELT still does not open after manual IP ad-
dress assignment and a restart, consult a qualified IT con-
tractor.
u Before disconnecting the appliance, reset the default net-
work settings on your computer.
7.3 Network configuration in the SERVICEWELT
u Open the menu.

DHCP is activated by default (factory setting). You must deactiv-
ate DHCP to enter an IP address manually.
u Uncheck DHCP to deactivate it.
u Enter your own IP address and the subnet mask.
u The default gateway and address of DNS server1 are usu-
ally the router IP address.

u Enter "http://servicewelt" in the address bar of your web
browser.
ð The Servicewelt or the selected IP address will open. Your
data will be loaded.
ð Commissioning is now complete.
We recommend bookmarking the SERVICEWELT or adding it to
your favourites in your web browser.
7.3.1 Setting the Proxy-Server
The appliance supports the use of a proxy server (e.g.in corpor-
ate networks).
u To configure the proxy server, contact your network admin-
istrator.
If you are using a Proxy-Server, we recommend setting up an
access lock (see
Access lock [}21]
).
7.3.2 Access lock
You can set up an access lock to protect the SERVICEWELT avail-
able locally in your home network from unauthorised access.
User name and password are freely selectable. They are not as-
sociated with other credentials you may have received for portal
registration or mobile access.
u Open the menu.

u Assign a username and password.
u User name and password are requested every time the SER-
VICEWELT is accessed locally.
7.4 Restoring factory settings
u To restore the appliance to factory settings, hold down the
reset button using a fine pen or a paperclip for 10seconds
whilst holding down the service button at the same time.
7.5 Enabling data access from the SERVICEWELT
portal
To allow data transmission to the STIEBEL ELTRON server, you
must enable the connection.
u Call up the SERVICEWELT.
u Under "Portal status", click on "Establish connection".
ð If there is no connection to the internet, a fault message
is displayed.
u Make the required settings.
u Enter your heat pump/ integral ventilation unit data in the
"Appliance type" and "Appliance number" fields. The appli-
ance number consists of the complete number on the type
plate.
ð On successful registration, you will receive a confirma-
tion email within a few minutes.
