3.4 SGReady functions
"SGReady" is a trademark of the Bundesverband Wärmepumpe
e.V. (German Heat Pump Association) and denotes a property of
heat pumps whose control technology enables them to be integ-
rated into a smart power grid (SG = Smart Grid).

3.4.1 Operating states
The device has two contact inputs for coupling to an energy
management system or a ripple control receiver. This gives you
the option of integrating your connected heat pump into an en-
ergy management system, which can help to reduce energy
costs. Alternatively, you can utilise the device to increase the
proportion of self-generated photovoltaic power (see
PV optim-
isation [}17]
).
Depending on the switching, your device can execute the follow-
ing operating states:
Operating state 1
– Switching (input 2/input 1): (1/0)
– Standby temperatures as specified in the operating and in-
stallation instructions for the connected heat pump
– Frost protection is assured
Operating state 2
– Switching: (0/0)
– Automatic/ Programmed mode as specified in the operat-
ing and installation instructions for the connected heat
pump
Operating state 3
– Switching: (0/1)
– Forced mode with higher heating and DHW temperature
values (for configuration see
Forced mode [}23]
)
Operating state 4
– Switching (1/1)
– Immediate switch to maximum (fixed) heating and DHW
temperature values
With inverter and cascade systems, the power con-
sumption is dependent on the respective set and ac-
tual system temperatures. There may also be a
delayed response to the SG Ready input signal to
comply with safety-related minimum system
runtimes and system idle times.
3.4.2 PV optimisation
For PV optimisation, you need a relay which
switches input1. Input2 remains unswitched. Con-
sequently, operating states 2 and 3 are relevant for
PV optimisation.
To increase the cost-effectiveness of your photovoltaic (PV) sys-
tem, it's recommended that you use the self-generated PV
power as much as possible yourself, drawing as little electricity
as possible from the grid.
To increase on-site PV consumption, the operating times of your
household consumer units and your heat pump must be adjus-
ted to the times when PV output is available.
The heat pump is often operated in the mornings and evenings,
as this is when demand for DHW is higher. It is precisely at
these times, however, that PV output is very low, perhaps even
non-existent. To make greater use of self-generated PV power,
it is recommended that the heat pump's operating times for
heating the DHW cylinder are adjusted to coincide with the
times when PV output is available. By overcharging the thermal
stores using PV power, it is possible to reduce the operating
times in the morning and evenings when mains electricity needs
to be used.

3.5 SERVICEWELT
SERVICEWELT is a local website that requires no internet con-
nection.
When you connect the ISG Connect to your heat pump/integral
ventilation unit and your home network, your system data is
prepared for the SERVICEWELT.
You can retrieve your system data and make system settings in
the SERVICEWELT.
3.6 SERVICEWELT portal
If you enable access to your system data by the SERVICEWELT
portal, you can book additional service packages in conjunction
with a service contract, to facilitate use via the app while out
and about, for example.
