Azimuth photovoltaic module array
N
S
OW
β
D0000106988
u Enter the horizontal compass orientation of the photovoltaic
module array.
– South = 0°
– West = 90°
– North = ±180°
– East = -90°
Maximum power feed-in
u Enter the maximum power feed-in.
The power feed-in is the maximum permitted feed-in power in
relation to the rated output of the entire system. This value is
partly regulated. It can be obtained from your power supply
utility or PV installer. In Germany, since January 2023, there has
no longer been any power limit specified by law. 100% power
feed-in applies.
Battery storage available
u Specify whether battery storage is installed in your system.
This information is required, as battery storage units generally
compensate for the output at the mains connection point and
EMTrend also regulates to this output. To avoid conflicts, select
"Yes" under availability of battery storage.
6.1.3 Parameters for the heat pump system
Heating water buffer cylinder
u Set whether or not a buffer cylinder is installed in the sys-
tem.
– "Buffer without mixer": at least one heating circuit is sup-
plied directly from the buffer cylinder.
– "Buffer with mixer": all heating circuits fed from the buffer
cylinder are connected via mixing valves. The buffer cylin-
der can be used for heat storage for energy management.
– "No buffer": the heat pump charges the heating circuits dir-
ectly with heat. No buffering in a buffer cylinder.
Heating buffer volume
u Enter the usable volume of the buffer cylinder.
The area above the heat pump return applies as usable volume.
If the volume cannot be estimated, you can simply multiply the
nominal capacity of the cylinder by 0.8. For an instantaneous
water cylinder, deduct the DHW cylinder volume from the nom-
inal capacity. The volume between heating and DHW is typically
divided 50:50.
DHW cylinder volume
u Enter the usable volume of the DHW cylinder.
The area above the heat pump return applies as usable volume.
If the volume cannot be estimated, you can simply multiply the
nominal capacity of the cylinder by 0.8. In the case of an instant-
aneous water cylinder, deduct the heating buffer volume from
the nominal capacity. The volume between heating and DHW is
typically divided 50:50.
Connected reheating stages
Only in conjunction with WPMsystem.
u Specify the number of connected reheating stages. (0, 1, 2
or 3)
EMTrend uses this together with the current status of the re-
heating stages to calculate their power consumption to determ-
ine a consumption forecast. All three heat pump reheating
stages should be connected as standard.
6.1.4 Parameters for heat pump operation
Check of emergency/auxiliary heater (qualified contractor)
During heating processes for heat storage, the electric emer-
gency/auxiliary heater switches on according to the heat pump
control unit setting. Depending on the feed-in remuneration, for
example, this may have a negative impact on the overall effi-
ciency of the entire system.
u Check the heat pump control unit setting to ensure that the
electric emergency/auxiliary heater does not generate any
unwanted consumption.
u Check the usage of the electric emergency/auxiliary heater
occasionally via the operating time or energy amount dis-
plays on the heat pump control unit. Observe the relevant
operating and installation instructions.
EMTrend activated
This activates EMTrend for heat pump energy management.
u Once all required parameters for energy management have
been entered, select "Yes" here to switch EMTrend to act-
ive.
Buffer heat storage temperature
Only in conjunction with "Buffer with mixer", see parameter
"Heating buffer" in the "Heat pump system" menu
u Select the set temperature to which EMTrend should heat
the buffer cylinder if there is a photovoltaic power surplus.
– Recommendation: 48°C
– Maximum: 50°C
HC heat storage temperature
u Select the set temperature to which EMTrend should heat
the rooms if there is a photovoltaic power surplus.
– Recommendation: 2°C above the configured comfort/ day
temperature
– Maximum: 30°C
DHW heat storage temperature
u Select the set temperature to which EMTrend should heat
the DHW cylinder if there is a photovoltaic power surplus.
– Recommendation: at least 5°C above the configured com-
fort/ day temperature
– Maximum: subject to type of heat pump and refrigerant.
Examples:
– Integral ventilation unit: 50°C
– Heat pump with R410a: 55°C
– Heat pump with R454c: 65°C
