About optical cables
Optical cables with S/PDIF connectors cannot be used.
Provide appropriate optical cables in accordance with the
following diagram.
Network cables between control units and active
speakers
• Do not use homemade LAN cables for the network cable
between the control units and active speakers. Such cables
may vary in quality. Using low-quality cables may cause
noise and other problems. Always use commercially
available products fitted with modular plugs.
• In the digital audio signal transmission between control units
and active speakers, retransmission does not occur like in
normal network data transmission in response to an error,
which may cause the audio from an active speaker to stop
or may cause a noise to be emitted due to network cable
problems. For details, see “Network cables between control
units and active speakers” (page 12).
Turning Devices On/Off
Turn on units in the following order.
• Word clock generator
• All Sub Player PCs
• Master Player PC
• All control units
The Master Player PC initializes at startup, and starts
communicating with the Sub Player PCs. The Sub Player PCs
must have finished initializing before communication starts.
Accordingly, wait approximately 3 minutes after turning on all
Sub Player PCs before turning on the Master Player PC.
If a control unit is turned on before the Player PCs, a loud
noise may be output from the speaker units connected to the
control unit when the Player PC is turned on.
