10.7 PLAYBACK and GENERATOR
XPT800 has a built-in codec that allows, even while storing acoustic parameters, playback of signals
through the audio output connector (Ø 3.5 mm jack socket). To play signals, select the desired
play_channel. Playback is activated as soon as the measurement START button is pressed.
10.7.1 PLAYBACK management
SETTINGS > INTERFACES > PLAYBACK
Channel (Play_channel): allows you to select the playback channel between Generator, Trace (wav)
or Measure (Meas)
•
By selecting GEN "Generator," the instrument plays signals generated through the SETTINGS >
INTERFACES > GENERATOR function.
•
By selecting TRACE, the instrument plays wav files previously stored in the folder
unit_name:\XPT800_My_serial_number\Traces\*.wav.
•
By selecting MEAS "Measure," the instrument plays the sound detected by the microphone direct-
ly-to the jack output.
Other available parameters:
•
Repetition (Play_repetition) enables continuous playback of the selected track.
•
Traces (Play_trace) allows selection from a list of the track to be played (the list is updated each
time the instrument is restarted).
•
Filter type (Hearing_channel), when Play_channel set to MEAS, allows selection of playback of
unfiltered microphone signal (MIC), broadband filtered (WB), or third-octave band filtered
(TOCT).
•
WB filter (Hearing_pond), if Hearing_channel set to WB, allows you to select the frequency
weighting applied to the signal between A, C, AUX.
•
Th. Octave band (Play_toct_band), if Hearing_channel set to TOCT, allows you to select the 1/3
octave band applied to the playback of the microphone signal.
10.7.2 GENERATOR management
Through the generator function, acoustic signals can be created without the use of an external gen-
erator. The user can define signal properties by adjusting parameters such as frequency, duration and
amplitude. The instrument automatically creates the signals as defined and stores them in wave for-
mat in the unit_name:\XPT800_My_serial_number\Generator\ folder. Once the signals have been
created, they can also be played back during measurements
Available parameters:
•
Frequency (Gen_frequency) lets you select the frequency of the signal.
•
Amplitude (Gen_amplitude) allows you to select the amplitude of the generated signal.
•
Duration (Gen_duration) allows you to set the duration of the signal (max duration 10s).
•
Files (Gen_file) to select the signal to be played back to jack output.
