14.1 Cleaning the product
Never clean the mower with a water jet or high pres-
sure cleaner. The motor should remain dry. Do not
use aggressive cleaning products such as cold clean-
ers or white spirit.
The mower should be thoroughly cleaned after each
use. In particular, the underside and the spindle.
Keep protective devices, air vents and motor hous-
ings as free of dust and dirt as possible.
NOTE
Before tipping the product, empty the fuel tank com-
pletely using a petrol suction pump (not included in
the scope of delivery).
The product must not be tilted more than 90 degrees.
• It is best to tilt the mower backwards. Make abso-
lutely sure that the spark plug (6) is pointing up-
wards. If the spark plug (6) is pointing downwards,
oil can leak out and cause major damage to the
engine and carburettor.
• Alternatively, you can tilt the appliance on its side,
but you must ensure that the air lter (8) is on the
upper side.
• Clean the underside of the product with a spatu-
la and hand brush. The spatula helps to remove
coarse and larger plant residues from the cutting
line area. Cleaning the underbody is easier and
more thorough immediately after use. Then dirt and
plant residues are still fresh and can be loosened
more easily. Grass residues and dirt that have dried
on can impair mowing.
• Rub the product clean with a clean cloth or blow it
o with compressed air at low pressure.
• Clean the product at regular intervals using a damp
cloth. Do not use any cleaning products or solvents;
they could attack the plastic parts of the product.
Make sure that no water can penetrate the interior
of the product.
2. Wait until the cutting thread (11) comes to a
standstill.
3. Remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug
(6) to prevent the engine from starting uninten-
tionally (Fig. 16)
13. Working instructions
• Only mow with perfect, undamaged cutting line.
• To achieve a clean cut, guide the product in as straight
a path as possible. These strips should always over-
lap by a few centimetres so that no patches remain.
• Keep the underside of the mower housing clean and
be sure to remove grass debris. Deposits impede
the start-up process and impair the cutting quality.
• On slopes, the cutting path should be made perpen-
dicular to the slope. Sliding of the meadow mower
can be prevented by tilting it upwards. For safety
reasons, slopes steeper than 15 degrees may not
be mowed with the meadow mower. (Fig. 18, Fig. 19)
13.1 After mowing
• Always allow the motor to cool down before park-
ing the product in a closed room. Remove grass,
leaves, grease, and oil before storage. Do not place
any other objects on the product.
• Check all screws and nuts before the next use.
Tighten up loose screws.
• Please also refer to chapter 17.
