RaySafe X2 SURVEY
Tip! Tap a parameter to get large digits, parameter information, and, if applicable, waveform.
Switch between these by swiping sideways.
Note! The dark entrance window represents the active area of the sensor. The lines on the side
of the housing marks the vertical position.
SURVEY SENSOR: ZERO ADJUST
A zero adjustment is needed either when prompted by the instrument or when the dose rate ap-
pears too high even if no radiation is present. You can initiate a zero adjustment by pressing the
>0< button. You will then get the option to either adjust, or to reset to the factory zero.
Adjust
A new zero adjustment will vary between 30 and 90 seconds, depending on environmental factors,
such as temperature. If the zero adjustment fails, try again. Make sure that the temperature is
stable and that the sensor is not irradiated during the process.
Reset
The factory zero is a generic zero adjustment performed when the sensor was produced. It is de-
signed to be valid for most measurement occasions. You can reset to the factory zero at any time
by pressing >0< and then Reset. This can be useful for example in an environment without pos-
sibility to shield the sensor from radiation, which is needed to get a proper result from a zero ad-
justment.
Note! The zero adjustment is saved in the base unit.
SURVEY SENSOR: MEASUREMENT PARAMETER DEFINITIONS
During measurement
Time is the total time since start of measurement.
Dose is calculated from all recorded data since start of measurement.
Dose rate and mean energy are moving averages.
Final readings
Auto trig mode
Time starts the first time the dose rate waveform reaches 50% of peak and ends the last time it
drops below 50% of peak.
Dose is calculated from all recorded data.
Dose rate is calculated as dose/time or, for measurements longer than 3 s, as a moving average
ending approximately 1–2 s before end of measurement.
Mean energy is calculated from all recorded data or, for measurements longer than 3 s, as a
moving average ending approximately 1–2 s before end of measurement.
