3.1.5 Setting different character encoding (option)
To display text, the corresponding strings are converted to 8-bit encoding before transmis-
sion to the switch. The default encoding is Windows-1250 or CP1250 and can be changed
in the AX Property Sheet of the “Emalytics Room Switch Network”. The corresponding pa-
rameter is “Text Encoding”. 16-bit encoding like UTF-8 is not supported.
3.2 Steps for integrating the switch
3.2.1 Reading (Discover) and configuring the switch in the net-
work
To run the discover process, follow the steps in Figure 3-6 to Figure 3-8: Double-click on
“EmalyticsRoomSwitchNetwork”. Clicking on “Discover” will then start the process.

Note: Set the “Discover Invalid” option to “true” for reading (discovering) switches
without configuration (new by default). For switches with an existing IP configuration,
set the “Discover Invalid” option to “false”.

Note: Using the serial number, spatial assignment of a built-in switch is possible. The
serial number is shown on the display of a new switch and can also be found on the
back of the display unit.
