Please note:

– Observe all local or national regulations for electrical installations. These may be coun-

try-specific.

– The conductor cross-section should be dimensioned in such a way that, with the cable

length used, the ohmic voltage drop is limited to <1%.

– All incoming and outgoing cables have to withstand a temperature of 75°C.

The following table describes the minimum conductor cross-section.

5.9.3 Connecting external control and data cables

DANGER: Personal injuries from non-compliance

If an emergency switching off circuit is implemented, it has to be implemented norma-

tively. National and local regulations have to be observed.

DANGER: Danger to life from electric shock

Before connecting the control cables, disconnect their supply voltages.

Cable route >25 m

– If a cable route >25 m is required, contact the service partner's helpdesk. For service

partner contact information, refer to “Contact for services” on page 87.

– Lay the signal cabling separately from the supply cables.

Use a machine control cable with a complete braided shield and a cross section of at

least 1.0 mm².

Connect the shield of the connecting cable to the provided terminal blocks of the PE rail.

DANGER: Danger to life from electric shock

Even if the system is switched off, voltage is still present in the system. Refer to Sec-

tion “Disconnecting the system” on page 66
