5.8 AC connections

DANGER: Danger to life from electric shock when protective conductor is

missing

Protective grounding has to be connected before the supply cables are connected.

The system must only be operated with protective grounding.

DANGER: Danger to life from missing protective conductor

A flawless grounding connection has to be established before connection to the

mains.

Please note:

– The connections are located in the bottom area of the system control cabinet (AC input

and DC output). Loosen the screw and remove the front touch protection to access the

connection terminal blocks.

– The cables can be routed to the system control cabinet from all sides and inserted

through the cabinet bottom. For information on cable sizes and where to connect the

cables, refer to the following tables and drawings.

– It is imperative that you re-install the touch protection after mounting.

– The connecting cables are dimensioned on site and routed to the system.

– Brackets and cable clamps have to be made available on site.

– See “AC/DC connection area” on page 48.

Keep connecting cables as short as possible

• Check the cable insulation for damage.

• For dimensioning the upstream fuse, see “AC safety equipment and selectivity” on

page 52.

• Observe the clockwise rotating field.

• Fix all cables to the cable catch rails.

• Make sure that all contacts used are tight.

• Do not connect consumers to the system that might lead to overload.

At the customer's, provide a surge protective device to protect the DC power modules

in case of high-energy transients on the mains side.
