2.3.1.2 Counting direction

Depending on the parameterization, you specify the counting direction via the CNTn_Dir

output data bits or the CNTn_IN2 (Dirn) direction input.

, counting direction, you can parameterize the counting direction:

– Permanently up or down

– Control via counting direction input Dir1/Dir2

– Control via the Set_CNTn_Dir bits in the output process data

2.3.2 Controlling outputs

Two outputs are available for each counter channel, which the module triggers based on

the parameterized conditions.

Set the following parameters for this:

– For each output, the comparative value you want to use as a trigger

– The behavior of the respective output

Section “Output behavior (0307hex: CNT_OutputMode)” on page 44

– If you have selected a pulse for the output behavior: the duration of the pulse

2.3.3 Parameterizing input filters

To minimize interference, you can parameterize input filters for each counter channel:

– Source input

– Input 1 (IN1, gate input)

– Input 2 (IN2, direction input)

– Input 3 (IN3)
