2.2 Module features

– Detecting digital input signals with an input frequency of up to 200 kHz

– Counting the digital input signals with a 32-bit counter (up and down)

– Controlling the counting process via the gate input (hardware gate), via the process

data (software gate), or without a gate condition

– Control of outputs OUT1 and OUT2 for each channel based on independent compar-

ative values for each output

– Single, periodic, or periodic counting with alternative final value possible

– Stopping counting via the CNT1_Hold or CNT2_Hold bit

– Specifying the counting direction as permanently up or down, via the direction input

or via the process data

– Specifying a start value and an upper, lower, and alternative limit is possible. The

start value is loaded when the channel is restarted or reset.

– Changing the start and limit values via PDI objects. This reparameterization resets

the counter.

– A programmable digital filter can be connected to each input. This allows the use of

mechanical switches.
