■ Make sure you have secure footing, especially
when mowing on slopes. Always work across
the slope, never up and down. Be particularly
careful when changing direction. Do not work
on excessively steep slopes.
■ Always push the appliance at walking pace. Be
particularly careful while turning the appliance
or when pulling it towards you or backwards.
■ Switch on the appliance carefully according to
the instructions in this manual. Keep your feet at
a safe distance from the rotating blades.
■ Do not tip the appliance during start-up except
when this is necessary when starting in tall
grass. In this case, tilt the appliance by pressing
the handle bar so that the front wheels lift up
slightly. Always check that both of your hands
are in working position before returning the
appliance to the ground.
■ Never work without the grass catcher or the
impact guard. Keep clear of the discharge
opening.
■ Do not start the motor when standing in front
of the discharge opening.
WARNING DANGER!
■ Blade keeps turning after the motor is
switched off.
There is a risk of injury.
■ The appliance must not be lifted or transported
while the motor is running. Switch off the appli-
ance if you have to tilt it for transport, when
crossing areas other than lawns and when
moving the appliance to and from the areas to
be mowed.
■ Always keep the grass discharge opening
clean and clear. Do not remove cuttings until the
appliance is at a complete standstill.
■ Never leave the appliance unsupervised in the
working area.
■ Do not work with a damaged or incomplete
appliance or an appliance that has been modi-
fied without the consent of the manufacturer.
Never use the appliance with damaged guards
or shields or missing safety devices such as
deflectors and/or grass catchers.
■ Do not overload your appliance. Work only
within the specified power range and do not
change the controller settings on the motor. Do
not use low performance machines for heavy
work. Do not use the appliance for purposes for
which it is not intended.
■ Do not use the appliance near flammable liquids
or gases. Ignoring this warning can lead to a
risk of fire or explosion.
■ Switch the appliance off and remove the con-
tact key and the battery. Make sure that all
moving parts are at a standstill:
– whenever you leave the appliance and
when it is not in use,
– before unblocking or clearing obstructions in
the discharge duct,
– before checking, cleaning or working on the
appliance,
– if you mow over a foreign body. Check for
damage to the appliance and make any
necessary repairs before restarting and
working with the appliance,
– If the appliance begins to vibrate abnormally,
it must be checked immediately.
– Ensure that all nuts, bolts and screws are
tight.
– Check the appliance for possible damage.
– Carry out the necessary repairs of damaged
parts.
