♦ If the line cannot be extended, proceed as
follows:
1) Switch off the device.
2) Press the rotary knob f downwards and pull
firmly on the line end.
♦ If no more line is visible, replace the line spool
d or wind on a new line as described in the
“Fitting/replacing line spool” section.
Cutting with the 2-tooth blade
WARNING!
► Always use the harness G when working
and wear suitable work clothing.
► Wear eye, ear and head protection.
► Make sure that the 2-tooth blade g is
properly attached.
► Replace damaged or blunt cutting tools.
▯ Only process clear and flat surfaces with the
2-tooth blade g. Carefully inspect the area to
be cut and remove any foreign objects. Avoid
hitting stones, metal or other obstacles. The
blade can be damaged and there is a risk of
kickback.
▯ Do not use the 2-tooth blade g to cut under-
growth or uncontrolled growth.
▯ Check the 2-tooth blade g regularly for
damage and replace it if necessary.
1) Swing the device back and forth in a scythe-like
mowing motion.
2) Hold the cutting head parallel to the ground
and set the cutting height.
♦ We recommend the following speed setting:
– Level 1: Undergrowth/shrubbery
– Level 2 and 3: Grass/lawns
If the device vibrates
♦ Clean the device and remove any grass clip-
pings that may be caught on the cutting head
or in the protective cover 0 (see "Maintenance
and care" section).
Removing blockages
WARNING!
► Switch off the device and remove the batteries
from the device before working on the cutting
tool!
► Wear protective gloves to avoid injury.
♦ Remove the cause of the blockage from the
cutting tool.
Maintenance and care
WARNING!
► Danger due to moving parts! Switch off the
device before carrying out any maintenance
work and remove the batteries from the
device.
► Have all repair and maintenance work not
described in these instructions carried out by
our Service Centre or a qualified electrician.
Only use original replacement parts.
♦ Carry out the specified maintenance and
cleaning work regularly.
♦ Many faults and accidents are due to inade-
quate maintenance and care.
Cleaning the device
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
► Do not immerse the device in water or other
liquids and do not spray it with water to
clean it.
CAUTION!
► Pay attention to the line cutter x when
cleaning the protective cover 0. Otherwise
you could cut yourself.
ATTENTION!
► Do not use detergents or solvents. These may
damage the surfaces.
♦ Use a brush or lightly moistened cloth to clean
the motor block 1, ventilation slots, handles 4/
q and shaft tubes 6/9.
