NOTE
► Make sure that no other part interferes with
the release or removal of the harness G.
Balancing the device
♦ To use with the line spool d or 2-tooth blade g,
select the correct position of the eyelet 3 for the
harness G.
♦ The device attached to the eyelet 3 should,
without you holding it with your hands, be
positioned...
– ...with the line spool d resting lightly on
the ground;
– ... with the 2-tooth blade g balanced about
20 cm above the ground.
1) Slightly loosen the screw on the eyelet 3 for
the harness G so that the eyelet 3 can be
moved.
2) Move the eyelet 3 on the upper shaft tube 6
so that the device is balanced as described
above, depending on the cutting tool.
3) Tighten the screw on the eyelet 3 again when
the device is positioned correctly.
Using the device
Before using the device, insert both batteries (see
Fig. I) and attach the harness G.
WARNING!
► Never use the device without a protective
cover 0.
► Wear suitable clothing as well as eye and
ear protection when working with the device.
► Ensure that the device is in working order
before each use. The On/Off switch u and
safety lock-out e must not be locked. The
motor must stop when the switch is released.
Do not use the device if a switch is defective
or damaged.
NOTE
► Observe noise protection and local regula-
tions.
Switching the device on/off and
setting the speed
♦ Ensure that you have a stable footing and
hold the device firmly with both hands on the
handles and at a distance from your body.
Make sure that you can move the device freely
after switching it on and do not touch any
objects.
Switching the device on/setting the speed
1) Press the On/Off switch u to activate the de-
vice. The charge level indicator i lights up.
The set speed level 1, 2 or 3 lights up on the
handle q.

Select the desired speed by pressing
the speed button r. The selected speed
level lights up.
You can select the speed as follows:
– Level 1: 4600 rpm
– Level 2: 5500 rpm
– Level 3: 7000 rpm
3) Press and hold the safety lock-out e and then
operate the start lever w. The device starts to
operate at the preset speed.
4) Release the safety lock-out e again.
NOTE
► It is not possible to operate the device con-
tinuously. You must keep the start lever w
pressed.
Stand-by
♦ Release the start lever w to switch the device
off briefly and put it into stand-by mode.
CAUTION!
► After switching off, the cutting tool continues
to rotate for a few seconds. Wait until the
cutting tool has come to a complete standstill.
Keep hands and feet away from the cutting
tool! There is a risk of injury.
Switching the device off
♦ If you no longer wish to use the device, switch it
off completely by pressing and holding the On/
Off switch u until the charge level indicator i
is no longer illuminated. Remove the batteries.
