Connecting the shaft tubes (Fig. A)
1) Loosen the wing screw 7 on the upper shaft
tube 6.
2) Press the locking pin 8 and push the lower
shaft tube 9 into the upper shaft tube 6 as
far as it will go.
3) Turn the lower shaft tube 9 until the locking
pin 8 engages in the opening on the upper
shaft tube 6 and protrudes.
4) Tighten the wing screw 7 again.
NOTE
► Before each use, make sure that the shaft tubes
6/9 are firmly connected to each other.
Disassembly
1) Loosen the wing screw 7.
2) Press the locking pin 8 and simultaneously pull
the lower shaft tube 9 out of the upper one
with a slight twisting movement.
Fitting/changing the line spool
(Fig. E/F)
NOTE
► The washer n, spring washer b and nut v
are not required for fitting the line spool d
and can be removed.
1) Make sure that the motor is switched off and
remove the batteries.
2) Place the device on the ground so that it has
a secure hold. Turn it so that you can work
comfortably on the underside of the protective
cover 0.
3) Block the mounting spindle c by inserting the
hex key s sideways into the opening at the
base of the mounting spindle c.
The hex key s is then located in the guide
provided on the protective cover 0.
4) Unscrew the line spool d clockwise from
the mounting spindle c.
5) Open the spool case B by pressing the click
lock M firmly inwards on both sides of the
spool case B. Remove the cover m of the
spool case B (see Fig. F).
6) Thread the two line ends of the new spool N
into the respective line outlet V.
7) Place the spool N in the spool case B and
close the cover m by engaging the two click
locks M.
8) Screw the line spool d anticlockwise onto
the mounting spindle c. Then remove the
hex key s.
NOTE
► If you are fitting the line spool d for the first
time, skip steps 5) to 7).
Winding the line spool
♦ Instead of a new spool N, you can also pur-
chase a 2.4 mm thick, 5 m long nylon line from
a specialist retailer and wind it onto the spool
N yourself.
NOTE
► When winding manually, use the slot C on
the spool N to clamp the nylon line so that it
does not unwind on its own.
♦ You can simply thread the line with the spool
case B closed or alternatively with it open.
With closed spool case:
1) Make sure that the two arrows on the cover m
and on the rotary knob f of the line spool d
point towards each other (see Fig. 1).
This ensures that the line can be threaded directly
into the line channel of the spool N.

2) Thread the line through one line outlet V and
further into the line channel until the line comes
out of the other line outlet V.
