Before use
Charging the battery pack
CAUTION!
► Always unplug the device before you remove
the battery pack from or connect the battery
pack to the charger.
NOTE
► Never charge the battery pack at an ambient
temperature below 10°C or above 40°C.
If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an
extended period, the charge level should be
checked regularly. The optimum charge level
is between 50% and 80%. The storage climate
should be cool and dry, and the ambient tem-
perature should be between 0°C and 50°C.
► The recommended ambient temperature
range for using tools and batteries is between
–5°C and 50°C.
♦ Slide two battery packs Y into the dual high-
speed charger X.
♦ Insert the mains plug into the mains socket.
♦ When charging is complete, disconnect the
dual high-speed charger X from the mains and
remove the respective battery packs Y. (Refer
to the charger instructions for the charge status.)
♦ Switch off the dual high-speed charger X for at
least 15 minutes between successive charging
processes. Also disconnect the power plug from
the mains socket.

♦ Snap both battery packs Y into the motor
block 1 (see Fig. I).
Removing the battery pack
♦ Press the release button L and remove the
battery pack Y.
Checking the battery charge level
♦ Press the
battery charge level button K to
check the battery charge level.
The status/remaining charge is shown on
the battery display LED J as follows:
RED/ORANGE/GREEN = maximum charge
RED/ORANGE = medium charge
RED = low charge – charge the battery
Assembling the device
WARNING!
► Always switch off the device and remove the
batteries before carrying out any work on the
device.
Fitting the handles (Fig. C)
1) Loosen the star screw h on the upper shaft
tube 6 and remove the handle holder j
underneath.
2) Position the handlebar 5 in the holder so that
the plastic ring lies exactly in the guide.
3) Attach the handlebar 5 with the handle
holder j and the star screw h. Tighten the
star screw h again.
4) If necessary, attach the cable duct t with
the two cable clips z.
Fitting the protective cover (Fig. D)
WARNING!
► Never use the device without a protective
cover 0. Always make sure that it is fitted
correctly.
1) Position the protective cover 0 on the holder y
of the lower shaft tube 9. Make sure that the
projection on the protective cover 0 is in the
slot of the holder y.
2) Fasten the protective cover 0 with the 2 screws
l supplied. Use the multifunctional key a for
this purpose.
