Inserting/removing the battery

Inserting the battery pack
♦ Click the battery pack e into the appliance.
Removing the battery pack
♦ Press the release buttonr and remove the
battery packe.
Use
♦ If necessary, screw the mandrel collector 2
onto the thread 3 at the back of the appliance.
Otherwise, the appliance cannot be operated.
♦ Determine the suitable rivet size on the basis of
the workpieces used.
♦ Use a suitable tool to drill a hole into the work-
pieces in the spot where the rivet will be locat-
ed. Make sure the diameter of the hole corre-
sponds to the determined rivet size.
ATTENTION!
► Suitable safety precautions must be taken de-
pending on the size and nature of the work-
pieces. Use suitable clamping devices to pre-
vent the workpieces from slipping.
► Before switching on the machine, make sure
the machine tool is firmly placed on the sur-
face to be processed.
♦ Check if the diameter of the attached nosepiece
7 matches the mandrel diameter of the deter-
mined rivet size.
ATTENTION!
► Ensure that the appliance is disconnected
from the battery before you fit or remove the
nose housing 8.
♦ If not, unscrew the nosepiece 7 from the nose
housing 8 using a size 12 open-ended span-
ner if necessary. Afterwards, screw the correct
spare nosepiece 9 into the nose housing 8
and tighten it.
♦ Insert the battery back into the appliance.
♦ Place the rivet body in the drill hole.
♦ Slide the appliance over the rivet until the man-
drel is fully inserted into the nosepiece 7.
♦ Pull the trigger 6. The mandrel is pulled into the
appliance and detached from the rivet body, and
the rivet joint is established permanently. The
work light 5 of the appliance also lights up.
If necessary, repeat the process until the mandrel
has been fully separated from the rivet body.
NOTE
► To ensure that the mandrel arrives in the man-
drel collector 2, the appliance must be inten-
tionally tipped back.
♦ Proceed in the same way with the other rivets.
♦ Empty the mandrel collector 2 regularly.
♦ When you have finished working, disconnect
the appliance from the battery.
Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Always
switch the appliance off and remove
the battery before carrying out any
work on the appliance.
The appliance is maintenance-free.
■ The appliance must always be kept clean, dry
and free from oil or grease.
■ Never allow liquids to get into the appliance.
■ Use a dry cloth to clean the housing. Never use
petrol, solvents or cleansers which can damage
plastic.
■ If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an
extended period, the charge level should be
checked regularly. The optimum charge level is
between 50% and 80%. The optimum storage
environment is cool and dry.
NOTE
