Tool-changing
o Use the SDS-Plus tool holder [] to change
tools quickly and easily without the need for
any additional tools.
o The SDS-Plus drilling tool moves freely
(depending on the system). This leads to a
radial run-out deviation while idling. This has
no effect on the accuracy of the drill hole as
the drill centres itself during drilling.
o The dust protection cap [] largely prevents
the entry of drilling dust into SDS-Plus tool
holder during operation. Ensure that the dust
protection cap does not get damaged when
fitting tools.
NOTE
u A damaged dust protection cap [] must
be replaced immediately. Contact a
customer service workshop.
Fitting an SDS tool
1. Grease the SDS-Plus tool holder [] slightly
with drill chuck grease[] before inserting
the tool.
2. Insert the tool rotatingly into the SDS-Plus tool
holder [] until it clicks into place.
3. Check that the tool is properly locked by
pulling it. The system has radial play because
of the design.
Removing an SDS tool
o Pull the locking collar [] backwards to
remove the tool.
Selecting operating mode
o Press and hold the release button[8] on the
mode selection knob[9] . Turn the mode
selection knob so that the arrow mark points
to the corresponding symbol.

In order to rotate the insertion tool to the required
position for chiselling, proceed as follows:
1. Turn the mode selection knob[9] to
(adjusting chisel position).
2. Turn the insertion tool in the SDS-Plus tool
holder[] into the required position.
3. Turn the mode selection knob[9] to
(chiselling).
Setting the rotation direction
NOTE
u Operate the rotation direction switch [2]
only when the product is at a standstill.
o Use the rotation direction switch to change
the direction of rotation of the power tool. This
is not possible while the on/off switch [3] is
pressed in.
o Clockwise: Push the rotation direction switch
to the left as far as the stop.
o Anti-clockwise: Push the rotation direction
switch to the right as far as the stop.
