WORKPLACE SAFETY
Protect yourself against electric shocks.
Short circuits may cause fires, injuries or damage to the device.
1. The voltage from the power source must match the information on the device's
type plate. The power supply must include a protective conductor. The device
plug must fit into the outlet; do not use an adapter plug
2. Handle the power cable carefully; avoid unplugging the device by pulling on the
cable. If using an extension cable, follow the manufacturer's safety instructions
3. Operating the device in wet areas is prohibited. Use a fault-current circuit breaker
if operating the device in moist or humid environments
4. Once the device is connected to the power supply avoid physical contact with
grounded surfaces (such as radiators). Hold the device by the insulated handles
and never touch the tool with any part of your body
PERSONNEL SAFETY
1. Both the operator and any nearby personnel must wear protective clothing,
gloves, protective glasses, respiratory protection, and non-slip safety shoes.
Do not wear jewelry, loose clothing, or leave long hair uncovered.
2. Avoid the risk of injury due to accidental activation or contact with heated
tools:
Handle the device as if the tool is always hot. Once the device is connected to
the power supply never touch the tool with any part of your body. Secure the
workpiece against slipping and keep your hands away from the cutting area
to avoid accidentally touching the tool. Never work while standing on a
ladder. Note that gloves and clothing cannot provide full protection against
injuries from the heated cutting wire.
If cutting is interrupted or before storing the device, turn it off and wait until
the wire has cooled.
Caution: The wire may remain hot even after the device is switched off!
Before cleaning or maintaining the device, changing the tool, or loosening a
blockage, unplug the power cord.
The on/off switch must be set to OFF when connecting the device to the
power supply.
