3.3. Device use
NOTE
• Before setting up or using this product, carefully read the Important Safety Information
section at the beginning of this manual, including all subheadings.
• Inspect the tool before use, checking for any damage, loose parts, or missing components.
If any issues are found, do not use the tool until it has been repaired.
Bleeding the Bottle Jack
IMPORTANT Before first use, ensure the hydraulic oil level in the Jack is correct. Fully test the
Jack for proper operation before actual use. If the Jack is not functioning correctly, bleed excess
air from the hydraulic system as follows:
1. Open the Release Valve.
2. Remove the Oil Filler Plug and fill the Jack with hydraulic fluid to the full level.
3. Apply pressure to the Saddle and pump the Handle quickly several times.
4. Check the Oil Fill Hole and, if necessary, top it off with hydraulic oil.
5. Replace the Oil Fill Plug and close the Release Valve.
6. Test the Jack several times to ensure proper operation before use. If, after bleeding,
the Jack still does not work correctly, do not use it until it has been repaired by a
qualified service technician.
Tool Setup
1. Always use the Pipe Bender with the Jack in an upright position. Ensure there is enough
space on all sides to accommodate the length of the pipe being bent.
2. Place the unit on a solid, flat, level surface that can support the weight of the Pipe Bender,
pipes, and other tools. The Pipe Bender must be clamped or bolted to a workbench if used
with one.
3. Select the Bending Die that matches the pipe size. Each Die is stamped with the
corresponding size. Place the selected Bending Die onto the Bottle Jack.
4. Adjust the Rollers so that the top of the pipe rests against the bottom of the Rollers. Pipes
can be bent into a shallow curve or up to a 90-degree angle, depending on Roller placement
and the Bottle Jack Saddle’s level before operation.
5. To adjust the Rollers:
a. Remove the R-Pins from the two Roller Bars, slide the Bars out of the Rollers, and
remove the Rollers from the Frame.
b. Place the pipe on the Die and identify the holes in the Frame where the Rollers
should be positioned to support the pipe.
c. Remove the pipe.
d. Hold a Roller over the selected hole and slide a Roller Bar through the Frame, the
Roller, and the back of the Frame.
e. Secure the Roller with an R-Pin.
f. Repeat steps d and e for the remaining Roller, Roller Bar, and R-Pin.
