2. LUBRICATION (SEE FIG. B1)
NOTE: Chain life and cutting capacity depend on optimum lubrication. Therefore, the chain is automatically
oiled during operation.
a. Set chain saw on any suitable surface with oil tank cap facing upward.
b. Clean area around the oil tank cap with a cloth, and unscrew the cap by turning it counter-clockwise.
c. Fill the oil tank with 200ml of specialist chain oil (not supplied, available to purchase separately) and keep oil
topped up during use.
d. Avoid dirt or debris entering oil tank. Ret oil tank cap and tighten by turning clockwise until hand-tight.
Precautions for safe handling of chain saw chain oil
WARNING:
• Do not eat, drink or smoke during use.
• Only use in a well-ventilated area to prevent build-up of excessive levels of vapour.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including protective gloves, eye protection
and suitable protective clothing including footwear.
• Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water after each use and particularly
before eating, drinking or smoking.
Precautions for safe storage conditions
WARNING:
• Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place away from possible sources of
ignition and direct sunlight.
• Keep container closed when not in use.
• Store locked up and out of reach of children.
Safe product/packaging disposal
WARNING:
• DO NOT release to the environment.
• Safety dispose of contents/container to hazardous or special waste collection point in accordance
with local waste disposal regulations. If in doubt, please contact your local environmental authority for
approved disposal methods.
3. OIL LEVEL GAUGE (SEE FIG. B2)
To prevent excessive wear, the saw chain and guide bar must be evenly lubricated during operation.
Lubrication is automatic. Never work without chain lubrication. If the chain runs dry, the entire cutting
apparatus will quickly become severely damaged. It is therefore important to check both chain lubrication and
the oil level gauge every use.
Never use the saw when the oil level is below the “Min.” mark.
MIN.: When only approx. 5 mm of oil is visible at the lower rim of the oil level gauge, you must top up with oil.
Top up with oil until the window is full.
