Always take care when removing the packaging to prevent damage to you or to the chain saw.
IMPORTANT! The machine is already assembled, check all the parts indicated in the manual are
in the box. Inspect all the parts for signs of damage. Do not assemble the chain saw if you observe
any damaged components.
NOTE: Before using the tool, read the instruction book carefully.
Take care not to lose any instructions which may be attached to the tool, these provide important
information which will be required while assembling the chain saw.
1. CHECKING THE CHAIN TENSION AND DIRECTION (SEE FIG. A1, A2, A3)
WARNING: Ensure the product is disconnected from the mains power supply before attempting
any adjustment.
WARNING: Cutting edges on chain are sharp. Use protective gloves when handling chain.
WARNING: Maintain proper chain tension always. A loose chain will increase the risk of kickback.
A loose chain may jump out of guide bar groove. This may injure operator and damage chain. A loose chain
will cause chain, bar, and drive sprocket to wear rapidly.
CHAIN TENSION:
1) Check the chain tension frequently during operation, and tighten when the chain becomes loose around the
guide bar.
2) Turn the tool-free lock knob clockwise by hand to tighten the chain tension and anti-clockwise to loosen the
chain tension until the saw chain is correctly tensioned. Do not tension the chain too tightly. (See Fig. A1)
3) The correct chain tension is reached when the chain can be raised approx. 3-5 mm (using a small amount of
force) from the guide bar in the centre. (See Fig. A2)
CHAIN DIRECTION:
Ensure the chain is in correct running direction by comparing it to the chain icon on the guide bar. (See Fig. A3)
