Set the Six-position DIP Switch SW1
• The six-position switch is located on the side of the SIC.
• Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to set the DIP switches.
• All switches are shown in the default position (OPEN).
Note: Switch positions 2 and 3 function together to configure the C3110 for Pause conditions.
SW1 Remote Fiber Fault Detection (Fiber RFD)
OPEN Fiber RFD Disabled.
closed Fiber RFD Enabled.
SW2 & SW3 work in combination to set Pause:
10 sw position 2 OPEN and 3 closed: Symmetric Pause.
01 sw position 2 closed and 3 OPEN: Asymmetric Pause.
11 sw positions 2 and 3 OPEN: Pause is OFF (default position).
00 sw positions 2 and 3 closed: Symmetric and Asymmetric Pause.
SW4 Transparent Link Pass-Through
OPEN Enable Link Pass-Through.
closed Disable Link Pass-Through.
SW5 Fiber Auto-Negotiation
OPEN Disable Auto-Negotiation for the fiber link (default setting).
closed Enable Auto-Negotiation for the fiber link.
SW6 Loop Back
OPEN Disable RX/TX signal loop back (default setting).
closed Enable RX/TX signal loop back.
