Inserting the Bobbin
1.
Press the lockout key to lockout the machine.
Place the bobbin in the bobbin holder with the thread
ru
nning off counterclockwise as shown on the hook
cover plate.

Hold the bobbin with your ngertip so it does not
rotate.
Guide the thread into the front notch of the bobbin
holder.
Pull the thread to the left to pass it under the guide.

Draw the thread to the left to pass it into the guide
path marked “1”.
Make sure that the thread comes out from the side
notch of the bobbin holder.

CAUTION:
Always make sure to press the lockout key to lockout
the machine or turn the power switch OFF before
inserting the bobbin.

Continue to draw the thread along the guide path
marked “2” and pull the thread to the right through the
slit. The thread will be cut to a proper length and held
in place.

Set the left edge of the hook cover plate into the
opening.
Push the hook cover plate down to t in place.

NOTE:
If the thread does not come out from the side notch,
rethread from step 1.

• Unless otherwise noted, you can start sewing
without drawing up the bobbin thread.
• Refer to page 20 for how to draw up the bobbin
thread.
