Inserting the belt clip
The belt clip can be inserted by sliding the thickest part
from the top down, pressing with your thumb along the
top edge so that the clip adheres to the back of the
battery. Once a click is heard, the clip is in place.
To remove it, pull the central tooth outwards, using a
small screwdriver to help, then slide the clip from
bottom up.
Connecting the headset/microphone
To simplify communication operations and improve audio quality during
reception and transmission, particularly when using the VOX function, the
microphone/headset is oered as an optional accessory. It must be
connected, on the right side of the device, to the relative jack sockets shown
at the bottom right of the gure in chap. 3.
The jack sockets are normally protected by a cap
with gasket, which ensures a good level of
protection against dust and moisture.
To remove the cap, pull the top edge outwards. It
will still be connected to the device along the
bottom edge, therefore, take care not to break it.
This will free the sockets, allowing full insertion of
the connector at the end of the
headset/microphone cable, pushing it all the way
in, making sure it is inserted in the right direction
determined by the dierent diameter of the plugs.
