Playback from Aux-in input:
The appliance can play an analogue pre-amplified signal, coming from a headphone or line output, from
analogue sources such as Hi-Fi components, external tuners, mobile devices or PCs without a wireless
connection, etc. The signal plug, coming from the external source, must be connected via a 3.5 mm stereo
jack plug to the socket (27): to select the source, press the button (11) several times until switching to the
playback of the input signal, announced vocally by the message “Auxiliary in mode”. Since analogue
communication does not share keypad control with the source, it will not be possible to switch to the next
or previous track with buttons (3) and (4), while the remaining buttons retain the function described in the
table above. Press button (11) to switch to a different mode, e.g. wireless or USB.
Microphone playback:
The appliance has an input (26) to which a dynamic microphone with an unbalanced 6.3 mm Jack connector
can be connected. In this way, the vocal signal coming from the microphone is reproduced by the device by
mixing it with the audio playing from the selected source. It is possible to increase or decrease the
microphone volume by pressing buttons (9) and (10), in order to obtain the best balance with the volume
of the music: in this way you can perform karaoke sessions, sing along to a pre-recorded base or make
announcements as required. The microphone level will be visible on the display, from “H00” to “H12”. The
following points should be considered for better use of the microphone input:
The microphone input is active with all sources: the voice signal can therefore be mixed with any
content played by the appliance.
The sound generated by the appliance can be picked up by the microphone and played back
again, creating a cascade effect that causes a rapid and uncontrolled increase in the signal
(triggering): this is extremely annoying and harmful, so it is essential when using the microphone
to avoid pointing it in the direction of the appliance and, if possible, to stand behind it.
To switch off the microphone, it is possible to disconnect it from the socket or set the microphone volume
to zero; some microphones also have an On/Off switch on the handle.
Playback from wireless microphone:
The supplied wireless microphone can be used up to a distance of around forty metres from the appliance
and must be activated by pressing the orange button on the handle for a few seconds: the red LED above
the button indicates that the wireless microphone is switched on; its volume can also be adjusted using
buttons (9) and (10), as with the wired microphone. Replace the batteries should the range of the wireless
microphone be significantly reduced: switch off the wireless microphone by pressing the orange button until
the red LED switches off, grasp the upper part of the handle with one hand and unscrew the lower cover
with the other. Replace the AA batteries paying attention to the polarity, using only non-rechargeable
alkaline batteries. Screw the lid back on and dispose of the used batteries in accordance with current
disposal regulations.
Microphone echo:
The appliance is able to add a slight echo effect of user-variable intensity to the microphone communication.
It is thus usually possible to achieve improved quality for singing, whereas, for speech, it may be unnecessary
or annoying. To overcome this problem without giving up the function, the intensity of the effect can be
changed by pressing button (7) to increase it and (8) to decrease it, from “E00” (no echo) to “E12” (maximum
volume of the echo effect). To exit echo control mode, wait a few moments without pressing any buttons.
TWS function:
The TWS function allows the use of two IR-PS40 devices as left and right speakers of a stereo audio
configuration: the appliances are able to recognise each other and automatically assign the correct channel
to be played. To use the TWS function, place two IR-PS40 appliances on either side of the area to be played,
