The following controls apply to installations using flammable refrigerants:
the actual refrigerant charge is consistent with the size of the room
in which the parts containing refrigerant are installed;
Ventilation devices and outlets are working properly and are not obstructed;
If an indirect refrigerant circuit is used, the presence of refrigerant
must be checked in the secondary circuit;
the equipment markings remain visible and legible. Illegible
markings and signs must be corrected;
The refrigerant pipes or components are installed in a place where
they are not likely to be exposed to a substance likely to corrode the
components containing the refrigerant, unless these components
are made of intrinsically corrosion-resistant materials or are
adequately protected against corrosion.
Checks on electrical equipment
Repair and maintenance of electrical components should include initial
safety checks and component inspection procedures. If there is a fault
that could compromise safety, no power should be connected to the
circuit until the problem has been satisfactorily resolved. If the fault
cannot be rectified immediately but continued operation is necessary,
a suitable temporary solution must be used. This solution must be
reported to the equipment owner so that all parties are informed.
Initial security checks include
the capacitors are discharged: this operation must be carried out in complete safety to avoid
any risk of sparking;
no live electrical components or wiring are exposed when charging, recovering or purging the
system;
there is continuity of the earth connection.
Repair of sealed components
When carrying out repairs to sealed components, all power supplies
must be disconnected from the equipment being worked on before
removing sealed covers, etc. If it is absolutely necessary to maintain
the power supply to the equipment during servicing, a continuously
operating leak detection device should be placed at the most critical
point to warn of a potentially hazardous situation.
Particular attention must be paid to the following points to ensure
that, when working on electrical components, the enclosure is not
