Symptoms
Checks Possible Cause
Automatic ice making
Ice-maker is not
working
Is “Auto Ice Off” lit on the control panel?
If yes, the “Ice-making” mode has been
turned off.
Activate “Auto Ice On” or “Quick Ice” mode.
Is anything other than ice stored in the
Ice Case?
Remove it from the Ice Case.
Is lit on the control panel?
The water in the water supply tank is low.
Add water into the water supply tank.
Is the water in the water supply tank low?
If the water in the tank is low, ice may not be made.
Add water until water level reaches the “Container full line” of
the water supply tank.
Is the water supply tank beyond the “Container
set position” line?
Push it beyond the “Container set position” line.
It takes a long time
to make ice.
Are you opening the doors frequently or
storing a large amount of food at once?
The inside is not cooled down enough.
Minimize the opening and closing frequency of the doors until it is entirely cooled.
Allow enough spacing between each item of stored food.
Is the surrounding temperature low?
Ice making takes more than four hours during winter.
Refrain from opening and closing the doors frequently and wait.
Did you just change the Ice Maker setting
from “Auto Ice Off” to “Auto Ice On”?
Ice making may take time immediately after changing the setting.
Refrain from opening and closing the doors frequently and wait.

Is the Ice Case filled with ice over the
limit line for stored ice?
Remove some ice.
Are there any food or package stuck in between
the door of the Freezer or Ice Compartments
preventing the door from closing completely?
Remove the food and close the door.

Deactivate “Energy Saving” mode.Is “Energy Saving” mode activated ?
There are protrusions
on the ice.
This is caused by frozen water collected in the ice tray grooves.
It is not a fault.
Stored ice becomes
round.
Ice cubes adhere
together.
Is old ice left unused for a long time?
Old ice cubes naturally shrink and stick together. There is no problem
as long as the ice cubes can be separated with the ice scoop.
Are you opening the doors frequently or
storing a large amount of food at once?
Open and close the doors quickly or open and close them
as little as possible.
Was one the Refrigerator Compartment doors
or slide doors temporarily left partially open?
When closing the door, close it fully.
The ice maker makes
small ice cubes.
Is the water in the water supply tank low?
When water is low, small ice cubes may be made. Add water until water level
reaches the “Container full line” of the Water Supply Tank.
There are white
impurities in the
ice cubes.
Did you use mineral water to make ice?
The minerals contained in the water may freeze and turn
white, but this is harmless.
When not making ice
Freshly-made ice cubes
adhere together.
Water accumulated in the ice tray grooves may freeze and the
ice cubes may adhere together. It does not indicate any fault.
Activate“Auto Ice Off”mode.

This is due to the air bubble formed in the ice.
