USE
Please Note!
■ The device may only be operated in an
upright position, never on its side, tilted
or upside down.
■ Before use, make sure that the crumb
tray is fully inserted.
■ Make sure that the device can switch
off after the toasting process. Problems
may arise from objects blocking the
lowering lever, or from baked items
which are too large in the toasting slots.
Toasting
The extent of browning depends greatly on
the type, freshness and composition of the
bread which is used.
Initially, depending on your own personal
taste and the bread, start with a low toast-
ing setting and increase gradually until an
optimum level of browning is achieved.
1. Slide one slice of bread into each
toasting slot(2). Do not use thick slices,
because they could get stuck in the
toasting slots.
2. Press the lowering lever(3) down until
it engages. (The lowering lever only
engages if the device is connected to
aplug socket.)
The device is switched on and the toast-
ing process starts. The selected toasting
level is shown on the display(8).
• Adjust toasting level: briefly touch
(10) once or several times.
○ Level 1 – 2: light browning
○ Level 3 – 4: medium browning
○ Level 5 – 6: strong browning

If the device is used several times in
a row, the slices inserted later on will
be darker than the first slices when
the same toasting setting is used.
Once no field has been touched for
several seconds, the remaining roasting
time will be displayed.
3. After the toasting process, the bread
and lowering lever are automatically
raised and the device switches off.
4. Remove the bread carefully.
5. If you have finished using the device, pull
the mains plug out of the plug socket
and allow the device to cool down.
Cancelling the Toasting Process
If the toasting setting is too high, the bread
could become charred and smoke could
develop.
In this case, touch (12) to cancel the
toasting process.
The bread and the lowering lever are auto-
matically raised and the device switches
itself off.
Toasting Frozen Bread
1. Slide the frozen bread in the toasting
slots.
2. Press down the lowering lever.
3. Touch (9). If necessary, also adjust
the toasting level (see the “Toasting”
section).

Warming Up Bread
If you want to warm up bread that has
already cooled down:
1. Slide the frozen bread in the toasting
slots.
2. Press down the lowering lever.
3. Touch (11). The bread is warmed up
for about 30seconds.
