The mic/line inputs have a talkover feature that automatically reduces the program audio group when mic/line
input is present. When the mic/line input is not present, the program audio group is restored to the set volume
level. The mic talkover threshold is adjustable from 0 dB to -60 dB.
Each input and output is individually isolated and buffered; switching is accomplished with virtually no crosstalk or
signal noise between channels. Audio that is switched through the DSP can either be linked with the video (audio
follow) or independent of the video (audio breakaway). Embedded digital audio always follows the video.
The switcher has a rear panel serial port and a front panel USB port for remote control and reporting. The IPCP
models also feature the built-in Extron high-performance IPCP Pro xi control processor with three AV LAN ports.
The non-IPCP model has one Ethernet port. The matrix switcher is programmed via these ports with the Extron
Simple Instruction Set (SIS), a set of basic ASCII code commands that provide simple control through a control
system or PC without programming long, obscure strings of code. SIS commands can be entered via the RS-232
port, USB port, or the LAN ports.
The LAN ports can be connected through a local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN).
The DTP CrossPoint can be operated by any of the following connected to the serial port, USB port, or a LAN port:
• A control system
• A PC and any of the following:
• The Extron SIS (see Programming Guide on page 59 and DSP SIS Commands on page 158)
• The Extron Windows-based DSP Configurator program (see DSP Configurator Program on page 90)
• The Extron Windows-based Product Configuration Software (PCS) (see Product Configuration
Software on page 82)
• An Extron MKP 2000 remote control panel
• An Extron MKP 3000 remote control panel
• (RS-232 only) An Extron MCP 1000 remote control panel, an MKP 1000 remote keypad, or both
