MAINTENANCE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and remove the battery pack
before making any adjustments or removing/installing
attachments or accessories. An accidental start‑up can
causeinjury.
Your DeWALT power tool has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with minimum maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regularcleaning.
Deburring a Pipe (Fig. A, D, E)
Deburring the Inside of a Pipe (Fig.A, D)
1. Set the desired speed using the speed selector

2. Insert, and apply pressure to the pipe

into the tool as
shown in Fig. D.
3. Press and hold the trigger switch

while maintaining
pressure on the pipe, until the desired material isremoved.
Deburring the Outside of a Pipe (Fig.A, E)
1. Set the desired speed using the speed selector

Speed Selection (Fig. A)
The tool features three speed settings to use for different
materials and pipesizes.
NOTE: Do not change speeds when the tool is running.
Always allow the tool to come to a complete stop before
changingspeed.
1. To select speed, turn the tool off and permit it to stop.
Slide the speed selector

to the desiredspeed.
2. Begin by operating the tool at the lower speeds to
achieve an improved deburringfinish.
If the tool does not change speeds, confirm that the speed
selection switch is completely engaged inposition.
Trigger Switch and Lock Off (Fig. A)
To turn the tool on, squeeze and hold the trigger switch

To turn the tool off, release the triggerswitch.
Your tool is equipped with a trigger lock button

. To lock
the trigger switch in the OFF position, push the trigger lock
to the left side of the tool. To unlock the trigger switch,
push the trigger lock to the right side of thetool. A visible
red marking on the lock button signifies that the tool is ON
andoperable.
NOTICE: To reduce the chance of damage to the tool ALWAYS
lock the tool when not inuse.
Tool Safety Shut‑Off
This tool has a safety shut-off feature that forcefully shuts off
the tool after five minutes of continuousruntime.
Proper Hand Position (Fig. C)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury,
ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury,
ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of a suddenreaction.
WARNING: To reduce risk of personal injury or damage,
NEVER put your hand on the gearcase while operating the tool.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main
handle

at all times.
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack (Fig. B)
WARNING: Ensure the tool/appliance is in the off position
before inserting the batterypack.
NOTE: For best results, make sure your battery pack is
fullycharged.
1. To install the battery pack

into the tool foot, align the
battery pack with the rails inside the tool’s foot and slide it
into the foot until the battery pack is firmly seated in the tool
and ensure that it does notdisengage.
2. To remove the battery pack from the tool, press the
battery pack release button

and firmly pull the battery
pack out of the toolfoot.
OPERATION

contains a button cell or coinbattery.
• DEATH or serious injury can occur ifingested.
• A swallowed button cell or coin battery can
cause Internal Chemical Burns in as little
as 2hours.
• KEEP new and used batteries OUT OF
REACH ofCHILDREN.
• Seek immediate medical attention if
a battery is suspected to be swallowed or
inserted inside any part of thebody.
Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used
batteries according to local regulations and keep away from
children. Do NOT dispose of batteries in household trash
or incinerate. Even used batteries may cause severe injury
or death. Call a local poison control center for treatment
information. The Tool Connect
TM
chip uses a CR2032 type
battery of nominal 3V voltage. Non-rechargeable batteries
are not to be recharged. Do not force discharge, recharge,
disassemble, heat above 140°F (60°C), or incinerate. Doing
so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion
resulting in chemical burns. Ensure the batteries are installed
correctly according to polarity (+ and -). Do not mix old and
new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as
alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries. Remove and
immediately recycle or dispose of batteries from equipment
not used for an extended period of time according to
local regulations. Always completely secure the battery
compartment. If the battery compartment does not close
securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and
keep them away fromchildren.
