Primary Stream: This are the settings for the main, high
resolution/bitrate stream.
– Encoder Mode: Shows the codec used when transmitting this
stream.
Note: H.265 is always used by the Primary stream to better support
4K streaming.
– Maximum Bitrate (Mbps): Select the maximum bitrate
available for use by the Primary stream. Available bitrate is
from 1to 40Mbps.
– Maximum Resolution: Select the maximum resolution for the
primary stream. Available resolutions are: 4K (3840x2160) and
1080p (1920x1080).
Note: The streaming resolution will not exceed the original
source’s resolution even if a higher maximum is selected.
– Rate Control Mode: Select between the VBR (Variable Bit
Rate) or CBR (Constant Bit Rate) encoding mode. Typically VBR
provides overall better compression and adjusts the bitrate
based on the complexity of the video content, however,
because of this variability, is not recommended for streaming
across the Internet. CBR uses a constant bitrate regardless
of video complexity, but because of this it tends to use
considerably more storage space when recorded.
