Interlock Input
e interlock input signals whether the operator intends to drive the vehicle:
• When the interlock is on, the operator intends to drive.
• When the interlock is o, the operator doesn’t intend to drive. e controller thus doesn’t
allow the vehicle to start or continue driving.
You can use an interlock switch or the keyswitch for the interlock input. e Interlock Type parameter
species which switch is used.
If the vehicle uses an interlock switch, connect the switch to pin J3-3.
e following considerations apply to the interlock:
• If the vehicle is driving when the interlock is turned o, the Interlock Brake Enable parameter
denes whether the controller directly stops the vehicle or turns o the motor and allows the
vehicle to roll until the operator manually applies the brake.
• Before turning the interlock input on, the operator must turn o the direction switch(es) and
reduce the throttle to under 25% of its maximum voltage, otherwise an HPD Sequencing fault
will occur.
Redundant Interlock Input
e controller provides a redundant interlock function. If the redundant interlock function is active,
the controller continuously checks the polarity of signals between the interlock and redundant
interlock inputs. If a polarity mismatch is detected, the Supervision fault (fault type 202) is set.
e redundant interlock is enabled with the Interlock Type parameter and congured with the
parameters on the Redundant Interlock Switch menu.
