The next step is to sew the elastic ribbon to the left with one of the elastic stitches on your machine.

Sewing on a non-elastic ribbon prevents stretching of seams in stretch fabrics.

Loosen the screw (1) until the non-elastic ribbon can pass through the opening (2) without any problems.

Gathering foot

The gathering presser foot allows two fabrics to be sewn together, so that the bottom layer is automatically gathered. It is ideal for children’s

garments, as well as for placing gathered borders for curtains, tablecloths or pleated skirts.

Setting the machine

Set your machine for 4-thread overlock seams and set the dierential feed to value 2.

Operation

Raise the needle to its highest position and insert the presser foot. Lift the presser foot and insert the layer of

fabric to be gathered (right side up). Insert the second layer of fabric (right side down) under the presser foot so

that the plate (1) is between the two layers. Lower the presser foot and sew the two layers of fabric together.

Carry out a sewing test.

Note: the degree of gathering can be changed by adjusting the dierential feed.

Cording foot

This presser foot allows you to sew two layers of fabric, with a cord between them, in a single operation. Ideal for casual wear, sportswear, bags

and upholstery covers.

Setting the machine

Set the machine for 4-thread overlock seams and select 4.5 mm as the seam width value.

Operation

Raise the needle to its highest position and insert the cording foot. Place the two layers of fabric on top of each

other (with the right side of the fabrics facing each other). Next, insert the cord tape between the two layers. Place

the fabric under the cording foot, making sure that the cord tape passes through the groove (1) of the foot. Carry

out a sewing test.
