Loosen the screw (1) and adjust the thread guide (2) so that only one thread of the upper fabric is trapped by the needle when the needle

penetrates. Always sew a test seam in a piece of scrap fabric.

Gimping foot

This presser foot is used for sewing gimp threads (twine, synthetic threads) up to 1 mm thick. Creates a wavy hem nish on delicate fabrics. It

can be used, for example, for evening dresses and wedding dresses or curtains.

Setting the machine

Adjust the machine for folded 3-thread rolled hems.

Operation

Raise the needle to its highest position and insert the presser foot. Insert the gimp thread into the thread guide

(1) and pull it through the hole (2) to the side thread guide (3). Then, pass the thread under the thread guides (4)

and (5) until it protrudes approx. 10 cm from the back. Attach the gimp thread with a few stitches, place the fabric

under the presser foot and continue sewing (the fabric should be right side up). Carry out a sewing test.

Note: the wave eect can be accentuated by adjusting the dierential feed to 0.5 and cutting the fabric diagonally

to the yarn.

Elastic presser foot

This presser foot is used for sewing elastic ribbon. In the same operation, the fabric is cut and sewn, and is also gathered by means of the elastic

ribbon.

Setting the machine

Set your machine to perform 4-thread overlock seam. The width of the seam is determined by the width of the elastic ribbon.

Operation

Raise the needle to its highest position and insert the elastic presser foot. Loosen the screw (1) so that part 3

opens by about 2 mm. Insert the elastic ribbon (4) into the opening (2) and pass it under the presser foot so that

it protrudes about 10 cm behind the presser foot. Finally, retighten screw 1. The tighter the screw is tightened,

the more pressure part 3 exerts on the elastic ribbon and thus the greater the gather eect. Carry out a sewing

test.
