Duct System and Ventilation
Equipment with A2L refrigerant should be utilized with an air dis-
tribution system with a fully ducted supply and return. If an open
(plenum) return is required, refer to local or national building code
for requirements for using open plenum return duct systems with
equipment with A2L refrigerant.
Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated
before breaking into the system or conducting any hot work. A de
-
gree ventilation shall continue during the period that work is car-
ried out. The ventilation should safely disperse any released refrig-
erant and preferably expel it external atmosphere. Should an auxil-
iary ventilation system be present, check that it is operating
correctly and no outlets are obstructed.

Unit Identification
The 39L units are identified by the 18-digit part number listed on
the serial plate. The part number describes all component, coil,
motor, drive, and control selections. See Fig.
1-9 for unit
identification.
