1. Display Panel Messages
❏ Warning messages
Solution
The print will restart printing as soon
as the head has cooled down. Just wait
for some time.
You can use that cartridge for some
time yet, but you will soon have to re-
place it with a new one.
Situation
The head is too hot to continue print-
ing.
The ink cartridge of (Y/LM/M/LC/C/
Bk) color is running low.
Message
HEATED HEAD

INK(COLOR)
Solution
If you have loaded the wrong media, re-
place them with the correct media. If the
side regulating plates are not securely in
place, align them with the paper correctly.
If you have specified the wrong size
by the printer driver, press the
STOP/RESET
key to cancel the print
job, specify the correct size, and then
print again.
Make sure that the PHS unit lock
handle is in the LOCK position, and
close the front cover.
Replace the ink cartridge with a new
one.
Press the feeder tray lift switch to lower the
feeder tray. Straighten the paper stack and
align the side regulating plates properly,
and press the tray lift switch again.
Press the
STOP/RESET
key to cancel
the current job. Create a new form
which is smaller in data size.
Remove the cap and put it back into the
hollow inside the sub cover, so that the
printer can be operated (➔ page 73).
Try reducing the paper stack on the
feeder tray.
Write the indicated number (• • • • •)
down and contact your printer dealer.
Load paper. If you want to cancel the cur-
rent job, press the
STOP/RESET
key.
Press the feeder tray lift switch to bring
down the tray, straighten the paper stack,
align the side regulating plates (at the inner
and front) properly, and then press the tray
lift switch again.

Situation
The width of the paper that is actually
loaded does not match the paper width
specified by the printer driver.
The front cover is open.
The ink cartridge of ( ) color is empty.
The paper is not loaded properly.
The printer is short of memory. The
form data is too large in the Overlay
printing.
The cap within the sub cover is at-
tached in place ready for transporta-
tion.
More paper is loaded than the loading
capacity on the feeder tray.
There is no solution the user can apply
to this problem.
There is no paper on the feeder tray.
The paper is not loaded properly.
