Chapter 1:
Getting Started
Main power switch
Cuts the power off completely. Leave this switch in the ON
( | ) position for normal daily use. When you stop using the
printer for weeks, or when you take it to another place,
make sure that it has come to a full stop and back into the
Power saving mode, and then switch it off. When you stop
using the printer for hours, put it into the Power saving
mode by the
POWER
key on the operation panel.

Turns on and off various
functions of the printer
Front cover
Ink cartridges are
installed here.
PHS unit
PHS means Print Head Station.
The BJ Linehead and the nozzle protection/
recovery mechanism are mounted here.
Card feeder
Load paper here.
10BASE-T connector
Connects the printer to
a network.
Paper stacker
Receives printed papers when
ejected.
USB connector
Connects the printer and the computer
via a USB cable.
Power cord connector
The power cord provided is connected here.
Parallel interface connector
Connects the printer and the computer
via a parallel interface cable.
Name card holder
Receives printed name cards when
ejected.
Capacity: up to 250 standard-type
name cards at a time.
Sub cover
Use the cap inside to seal up the
ink channels before transporting
or moving the printer.
