Cleaning the appliance
If you never or only rarely wash your laundry at 95°C, we recommend
occasionally letting a 95°C programme run without laundry, and
adding a small amount of detergent in order to keep the interior of the
appliance clean.
Follow recommendations for dosing/additives
This helps to optimise the washing result, avoid skin-irritating residues
from excess laundry detergent in the laundry, and save you money by
not needlessly wasting laundry detergent.
Use low temperatures and longer times
The most efficient programmes in terms of energy consumption are
generally the ones with lower temperatures and longer times.
Do not exceed loading capacity
Load your washing machine to the load capacity stated in the
"PROGRAMME OVERVIEW" table, in order to save water and energy.
Noise level and residual moisture
These factors are influenced by spin speed: the higher the speed in
the spin phase, the higher the noise level and the lower the residual
moisture.
MAINTENANCE & CARE
Switch off the washing machine and unplug it for all maintenance and
care work. Regularly check the water supply hose for brittleness and
cracks. Clean and maintain your washing machine regularly (at least 4
times a year).
Cleaning the exterior of the washing machine
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the washing machine. Do not use glass
or all-purpose cleaners, scouring powder or similar, to clean the control
panel - these substances may damage the print.
Laundry detergent compartment
Clean it regularly, at least three to four times a year, to avoid an
accumulation of laundry detergent:
Press the unlocking button
, to loosen the laundry detergent
compartment and remove it. A small amount of water may be left in
the compartment, so you should hold it in an upright position. Rinse
the compartment under running water. You can also remove the siphon
cap on the back of the compartment for cleaning. Insert the siphon cap
back into the compartment (if removed). Reinsert the compartment by
inserting the bottom tabs of the compartment into the corresponding
openings on the lid and pressing the compartment against the lid until
it locks in place. Make sure that the laundry detergent compartment is
correctly reinserted.
Checking the water supply hose
Regularly check the water supply hose for brittleness and cracks. If it
is damaged, replace it with a new hose, which is available from our
customer service or your dealer. Depending on the type of hose: If the
hose has a transparent coating, check regularly whether the colour
is locally intensified. If yes, the hose may be leaking and should be
replaced. For water stop hoses (if available): Check the small
inspection window of the safety valve (see arrow). If it is red, the water
stop function has been triggered and the hose must be replaced with
a new one. Press the unlocking button (if present) while removing the
hose in order to unscrew the hose.
Cleaning the filter in the water supply hose
Check and clean it regularly (at least two or three times a year).
Turn off the tap and loosen the water supply hose at the tap. Clean the
inner filter and reattach the hose to the tap. Next, unscrew the hose
on the back of the washing machine. Pull the filter from the washing
machine connection using combination pliers and clean it. Reattach the
filter and screw the supply hose back on. Turn the tap on and make sure
that all connections are completely watertight.
Cleaning the water filter/emptying residual water
The washing machine is equipped with a self-cleaning pump. The filter
retains objects such as buttons, coins, safety pins etc. that have been
left in the wash. If you used a boil-wash programme, wait until the water
has cooled before emptying the filter. Clean the water filter regularly to
prevent it from becoming clogged, which will in turn prevent the water
from draining after washing. If the water cannot drain, the display will
show that the water filter may be clogged.
Open the filter lid with a coin. Place a wide, flat container under the
water filter to catch waste water. Turn the filter slowly counter-clockwise
until the water flows out. Let the water flow out without removing
the filter. When the container is full, close the water filter by turning
it clockwise. Remove the container. Repeat the process until all the
water has drained out. The washing machine is equipped with different
automatic safety and feedback functions. Next, remove the water filter
by turning it outwards and counter-clockwise. Clean the water filter
(remove residues in the filter and clean it under running water) and
the filter chamber. Make sure that the pump impeller (in the casing
behind the filter) is not blocked. Insert the water filter and close the
filter cover: before you open the door, as described in the following
section, read the fault "Door is locked with or without fault display and
the programme is not running". Make sure to turn it inwards as far as
possible. To test the water-tightness of the water filter, you can pour
about 1 litre of water into the drum and check that no water is running
out of the filter. Next, close the filter cover.
Lid seal
Check the condition of the lid seal regularly and clean it from time to
time with a damp cloth.
Retrieving an object that has fallen between the drum and the tub
If an object accidentally falls between the drum and the tub, you can
retrieve it using one of the detachable drum lifters.
Unplug the washing machine from the mains. Remove the laundry from
the drum. Close the drum tabs and turn the drum by a half turn (Figure
a). Press on the plastic end with a screwdriver while you slide the drum
lifter from left to right (Figure b, c), it will fall into the drum. Open the
drum. You can retrieve the object through the hole in the drum.
Reinsert the lifter into the drum: position the plastic tip above the hole
on the right side of the drum (Figure d). Next, slide the plastic lifter from
right to left until it locks in place. Close the drum tabs again, turn the
drum by a half turn and check the position of the blade on all anchor
points. Plug the washing machine in again.
TRANSPORT/REMOVAL
Unplug the washing machine from the mains and turn the tap off.
Disconnect the supply hose from the tap and remove the drainage hose
from the drainage site. Remove any residual water from the hoses and
the washing machine and fasten the hoses to prevent them from being
damaged during transport. To make moving the machine easier, lift the
motion lever on the front side at the bottom (if present on your model)
slightly by hand. Pull the washing machine with the base until it comes
to a stop. Next, press the motion lever back into the stable original
position. Reattach the transport clamps. Follow the instructions in the
INSTALLATION MANUAL for removing the transport clamps in reverse
order.
