5. Use cases
5.2 Acoustic signal measurements using the Real Time Analyzer (RTA) and Automatic Time
Measurement (ATM) function for frequency and time alignment analysis
To use the RTA and ATM in combination with the AMI, the measurement microphone must be connected to the XLR
microphone input of the AMI (page 21, point 8).
If the measured signal is too low despite a high playback volume, the microphone gain on the AMI can be adjusted using
the gain control (page 21, point 9). The gain should be increased carefully to prevent clipping at the microphone input.
When using the Beyerdynamic MM1 at normal playback volumes, it is recommended not to set the gain beyond the
halfway point (control range between the minimum and the 12 o’clock position).
