Calibration of the microphone (optional)
To improve measurement accuracy further, you can load a custom calibration le for the measurement microphone in
the DSP PC-Tool software. This le compensates for frequency deviations specic to the microphone, enabling even
more precise and linear measurement results.
The AMI Tuning Kit includes a Beyerdynamic MM1 measurement microphone specically designed for acoustic mea-
surements. The corresponding calibration le is provided on the included USB stick.
Calibration les for other microphones – e.g., from third-party manufacturers – can also be integrated into the software.
Such les are typically provided by the respective microphone manufacturer.
Calibrating the measurement microphone using the Beyerdynamic MM1 as an example:
1. Launch the DSP PC-Tool 6 software on your computer.
2. Click on the “DSP PC-Tool Cong” menu in the upper right corner and switch to the “Audio Input” tab.
3. In the “Microphone Input” section, click “Load Calibration File”, then click “Extended Settings”, and select the appro-
priate calibration le from the included USB stick via the le explorer.
4. The selected calibration le will be displayed and activated automatically once it is loaded.
Note: If the calibration le is lost, please contact the microphone manufacturer directly.
For the Beyerdynamic MM1 included in the AMI Tuning Kit, a replacement le can be requested using the following
online form: https://www.beyerdynamic.de/formulare/mm1-register or by email at: info@beyerdynamic.de
Please have the serial number of the microphone ready. You can nd it at the bottom end of the microphone shaft.
