Operating the monitor
Icon Menu and submenu Description
CONSOLE MODE Adjusts CONSOLE MODE to ON/LEGACY DEVICE/OFF, COLOR, GAMMA, or
SOURCE TONE MAP. Activating this feature gives the best gaming experience when
playing console games. For more information, see Console mode (HDMI only).
• ON/LEGACY DEVICE/OFF: Select ON or OFF to enable or disable the functions
under CONSOLE MODE. Select LEGACY DEVICE when you are using older version
consoles, such as PS4.
• COLOR: Manually adjust RGB from 0 to 100. By default, RGB is set to 100.
• GAMMA: Manually adjust GAMMA from 1.8 to 2.6. By default, GAMMA is set to
2.2.
• SOURCE TONE MAP: Select to allow the HDR content to be tone mapped by the
source device.
NOTE: CONSOLE MODE is only for HDMI. PRESET MODES is disabled when
CONSOLE MODE is set to ON.
NOTE: COLOR/GAMMA is disabled when SMART HDR or DOLBY VISION is
activated and HDR content is displayed.
NOTE: SOURCE TONE MAP is disabled when DOLBY VISION is activated or no
HDR content is displayed.
ALIENVISION Allows you to customize your own display modes (VISION 1, VISION 2, and VISION 3)
for different gaming scenarios. By default, ALIENVISION is OFF.

You can go through the options and make adjustments for each vision mode.
VISION SETTINGS:
• MODE: Select NIGHT to identify objects clearly in darkness or select CHROMA to
apply a thermal color palette to show temperature variations in the scene. Selecting
OFF will disable the functions under VISION SETTINGS.
• SIZE: To adjust the close-up window size that applies the vision mode.
• SHARPNESS: To adjust the sharpness level of the pictures in the close-up window.
• POSITION: Allows you to select a preferred position for the close-up window.
• ZOOM: To adjust the zoom ratio, which provides a magnified view of the object.
Selecting OFF will turn off this function.
• OPACITY: To adjust the transparency level of the close-up window.
CROSSHAIR:
• STYLE: Allows you to select a preferred crosshair style to aid in aiming accurately.
Selecting OFF will turn off this function.
• COLOR: Allows you to select a preferred crosshair color. If you select DYNAMIC, the
crosshair color will change dynamically based on the background color.
NOTE: More ALIENVISION options are available on using Alienware Command
Center (AWCC).
