OPERATION
z If the cutting blades contact foreign material, or if the tool begins making abnormal noises or vibrations, turn off the tool and discon-
nect from the power supply. Inspect the tool for damage. Repair or replace any damaged parts before operating the tool.
z Do not allow material to overload the discharge chute. This can prevent proper discharge and result in material discharge through
the feeding chute.
z Keep all guards and deflectors in place and good working condition.
z Do not operate the tool on gravel or any loose surface.
z Turn off the tool and disconnect from the power supply when the tool is not being operated.
z Do not tilt the tool while in operation.
z Some parts of the tool can freeze under extreme weather conditions. Do not attempt to operate the unit with frozen parts.
z Do not pull sharply on the cord or abuse it in any manner. Frequently inspect the cord for signs of damage. If damage is found,
replace the cord immediately.
z Disconnect the extension cord after using the electric tool. Hang the extension cord with the tool so it will not be misplaced or damaged.
REPLACING THE BLADES
z Turn off the motor and disconnect from the power supply.
WARNING
Always wear gloves or cut-resistant hand protection when performing maintenance or servicing this tool.
Failure to comply may result in serious personal injury.
z Use the locking knob to open the motor housing.
z Tilt the motor housing cover forward to provide access to the blades.
z Block the blade plate and guide a screwdriver through the access hole to restrict the blades from movement.
z Rotate the blade plate until a block opening is reached.
z Use the wrench (included) to loosen the screws and remove the blade. Repeat as necessary for the other blade.
WARNING
Do not sharpen the blades. Sharpening blades must only be completed by a qualified professional. An
imbalance of the blades could result in damage to the tool and serious injury to the operator.
