Troubleshooting:Surround Sound

Remedy
• Only 2-channel audio, no
surround sound
• Check and reconnect speaker
connections if necessary
Symptom Cause
• Surround and Center
speakers are not connected
correctly
• Turn up speaker volume levels in
the system setup menu
• Surround and Center
speakers are turned off or set
too low in the system menu
• No DSP mode has been
selected (if analog source audio)
• Select a DSP mode for analog
playback to have surround
mode enabled
• No sound from particular
Rear or Center speakers
• Disable or change the Pro-Logic
mode to a mode where the speaker
are audible
• A Pro-Logic surround mode
that by design cuts sound to
particular speakers is enabled
• Particular speakers are not
connected properly
• Perform a Test Tone check. If
particular speakers are not present
in Test Tone rotation, check
speaker connection and replace
cable and speaker if necessary
• Input source player with
digital connection is not
configured for PCM-SP/DIF
RAW output
• Properly configure your Input
source player for PCM-SP/DIF
RAW output
