Step 2: Fasten the upper (44-514-401) and lower [44-514-405 (16-step models); 44-514-404 (15-steps); 44-514-403 (14-
steps); 44-514-402 (13-steps)] step support weldments together and to the step assembly with

hardware. Be sure to orient the back leg weldment as shown below, with base brackets facing the bottom of the
stairs. Only finger tighten the hardware.
Step 3: Fasten the front vertical supports [44-014-593 (13-steps); 44-014-594 (14-steps); 44-014-595 (15-steps); 44-014-596 (16-
step models)] and two horizontal supports (44-014-597) to the ladder assembly at points A, B, and C as shown in the
diagram below with
